Bob Cummings, an Evans scholar, graduated in 2011. He teaches Latin at Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, IL.

 

 

 

 

Olivia Dobbs graduated in 2016 with a major in Classical Studies. She is a profesional muscian and sound technician. 

 

 

 

 

Kelsey Evans graduated in 2016 with a 4.0 average and the Gold Medal from the College of Arts and Sciences. She is a legislative assistant at the MIlwaukee County Board of Supervisors. 

 

 

After graduating from Marquette, John Fraser earned his MA in Classics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He taught Latin in a German Gymnasium and brewed beer in New Mexico. He currently teaches at the Bosque School in Albuquerque.

 

 

William Frost graduated in 2019 with the Gold Medal and Gettel Awards. He will begin graduate studies in Classics at the University of Colorado, Boulder, in Fall 2020. 

 

 

 

Nelson Glasford graduated in 2014, after serving in 2012-13 as President of Eta Sigma Phi. He is an RPO Core Recruiter at Manpower Group in Milwaukee. 

   

 

 

 

 

Tom Head went on to receive an M.Ed. at Loyola University in Chicago and to teach Latin to middle-schoolers in the Chicago area. He is currently teaching Religion at St. Catherine's HS in Racine, WI. He is also a 4th-Degree Knight of Columbus. 

 

 

 

 


Dean Hunter graduated in 2011 with a double major in Classical Languages and Political Science. For his outstanding academic record, he received the Mary Gettel Award from the Department of Foreign Languages and the the Virgil Blum Award from the Department of Political Science, as well as the Gold Medal from the College of Arts and Sciences.  He went on to study Law at St. Louis University. He is currently the Legal Editor at the Maryland State Bar Association.

 

 

Samantha Kailas  graduated in 2013 with a double-major in Classics and Anthropology. She is enrolled in the MA program in History and Museum Studies at UW Milwaukee. 


 

 

 

Dr. Katherine Milco graduated in 2002 with a triple major in Classical Languages, Theology, and Philosophy. In 2012, she received her Ph.D. in Classics from the University of Chicago, after completing a dissertation on the Passio of Ss. Perpetua and Felicity. She was an Adjunct Instructor at Marquette from 2007 to 2017, and now teaches at UW-Milwaukee and Sacred Heart Seminary.


 

 
 

Dr. Rajesh Mittal graduated with a double major in Classical Languages and English in 2003. He studied Classics at the University of Michigan, where he wrote a PhD dissertation entitled Fata viam invenient: Virgil, Augustus, and the Philosophy of History. He went on to study at the Institute des études politiques in Paris, where he is currently a freelance writer. 
 


Father Dr. Maurus (Bryan) Mount, OSB, graduated in 2002. He entered the Benedictine Order at St. Vincent Archabbey in Labtrobe, PA, and was ordained a priest in 2007. He received his M.A. in Classics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the D. Phil. at the University of Vienna. He teaches Latin and Greek at St. Vincent's Seminary.


 

 
Dr. Amy Norgard graduated in 2007. She then enrolled in the Classics program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she received awards for her work as a teaching assistant. From 2012, she taught full-time at the University Laboratory High School of the University of Illinois. She received her Ph.D. in June, 2015. She has accepted a tenure-track position in Classics at Truman State University. 

 

 

 

Alex Norwick graduated in December, 2010. He studied Broadcast Journalism at the Annenberg School of Communications at the University of Southern California. He is a public announcer at the University of Southen California, and he teaches Latin and History for Fusion Academy. 

 

 

 

 

 

Louise Reinmuller graduated in 2014 with a degree in Education and Classics. She taught HS and MS Latin in the Mequon-Thiensville School District, and is now the full-time Latinist at Catholic Memorial HS in Waukesha. 

 

 

 

 

Albert Riviero graduated in 2013 with a double-major in Classics and Political Science. He was among the recipients of the Gold Medal Award for the highest cumulative GPA at Marquette. He studied Law at Harvard University, and is currently enrolled in Harvard's PhD program in American Politics. 

 

 

Sharif Said graduated in 2007, after serving as the Megas Grammateus of the national committee of Eta Sigma Phi.  His varied resume includes teaching and dairy farming; he is currently a patrol officer in the West Allis Police Department. 

 

 

 

 

Angelica Schutz graduated in 2014 with a double-major in English and Classics. Among other honors, she received the Gettel Award for the highest GPA in the Department of Foreign Languages. She taught Latin as part of the LANCE Program, a two-year service opportunity patterned after the life of the Christian Brothers. She now teaches at Assumption HS in Wisconsin Rapids. 
 


 

Fr. Paul Shelton, SJ, graduated in 2003 with a double major in Classical Languages and History. He entered the Society of Jesus in 2003, and has just completed his regency as a Latin teacher at Marquette University High School. He was ordained a priest in June, 2014.

 


 

 

Fr. Joseph Simmons, SJ, graduated in 2002.  He entered the Society of Jesus in 2006. He completed his regency at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and was ordained a priest in June, 2017.

 


 

 

Jesse Taniguchi graduated in 2007. He received a graduate fellowship in the Classics program at the University of Cincinnati. He has also served as rédacteur at the American office of L’année philologique.


 

 

 

Dr. Ryan Thom graduated in 1999 with a double major in Classical Languages and Chemistry. He received his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from MIT in 2006. He is currently employed as an Energy Trader at Next Era Energy Resources. 

 


 

 

Dr. Tobias Torgerson graduated in 2003, and was awarded the Gold Medal of the College of Arts and Sciences for his distinguished academic performance. He received a Ph.D. in Classics from Cornell University in 2010. He works as a support writer for Epic Systems, and has contributed articles to examiner.com. 

 

Kyle Whelton graduated from Marquette in 2015, after serving as President of the Marquette Student Government. He was a project manager at Epic Systems and a Field Organizer for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. He is now a benefits consultant and a member of the Sheboygan School Board. 


 

 

 

Fr. Stephen Wolfe, SJ, graduated in 2003. He entered the Society of Jesus in 2006, and completed his regency at Creighton Preparatory Academy in Omaha, Nebraska. He was ordained a priest in June, 2017.
